Who Can Be a Guest Editor?
Guest Editors can be anyone interested in helping to build and maintain this free, comprehensive database of elected officials and candidates.
Guest Editors are usually those who wish to ensure the accuracy of our pages concerning their geographic area, such as Election Commission officials, GIS Coordinators, and those involved in promoting voter turnout. Elected officials, candidates, and political parties may wish to ensure the accuracy of their own listings.
How Do You Screen Guest Editors?
Guest Editors must provide proof of identity, go through an offline vetting process, and complete a probationary period before they can edit directly to our site. All changes are tracked and recorde
Can a Guest Editor Change Anything on Your Site?
No. Each Guest Editor is limited to a specific page or pages. When managing candidate lists, Guest Editors may be restricted by party. All changes are tracked and recorded.
What if a Guest Editor Makes a Mistake, Whether Intentional or Not?
Inaccurate information on our site can be immediately reported by any user, by simply clicking on the “Edit This Page” link on every page. Repeated mistakes by a Guest Editor may result in a return to probationary status, while fraud will result in the immediate termination of the Guest Editor account and could subject the Guest Editor to liability.
What Will I Need to Apply?
You will need to upload an image of your driver’s license. Other documentation may be requested later.
